Ignace Verpoest is head of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at the Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven, Belgium.
 
Research topics:
  • Composite materials (fibre reïnforced plastics)
  • Textiles and textile based composites
  • Innovative processing of thermoplastic composites (a.o. self-reinforced TP-composites, in-situ polymerisation of TP-composites, short-fibre composites)
  • Natural fibre reinforced composites
  • Sandwich materials and continuously produced honeycomb cores (paper and plastic based)
